What can you actually control with your thoughts?
If you didn’t make up thoughts, and they aren’t yours, and you can’t control them…holy poop…now what?
Well,just like anything else. Start where you are, with what you have and control what you can control.
So what can we actually control with the thoughts that occur within our awareness? I’m going to mention a few on here. 1st step is, always…AWARENESS. You can’t move through or release negative thought patterns that you aren’t aware of. You also can’t release anything you are judging or criticizing. Becoming a witness of the thoughts that occur within your mind is the first step. Watch what you think in the morning, when you shower, when you brush your teeth, watch your thoughts during traffic, dinner, meetings, conversations. The best that you can watch yourself without judgement.
As you practice awareness you might notice all thoughts are judgements, and not only are they judgements, but with each thought there are a thousand other than are the complete opposite of the one that just occurred to you. When you become a witness in the beginning it can be overwhelming watching the crazy thoughts trying to get your attention. That’s normal. Just notice.
2nd thing you can control is what kind of energies you put yourself around:
Just like the air you breathe, the water you drink, the food you eat and the environment you live in, you can pick different options. Some air is cleaner than other air, some water has less contaminants, some environments are more quiet, some are livelier, etc etc etc…are you getting the picture?
Anything you listen to, watch, read, who you talk to, where you drive, work, go to school, worship etc etc etc (oof that’s getting redundant) you are tapping into the thought frequencies around that. The energies around each of those places, things, songs, people have thoughts and emotions within the energy range and you place yourself within that space. I like to call it “radio stations”, or “soundtracks” or “theme songs”. You know how you always know an Enya song or a John Williams soundtrack? Kinda like that. So you def have control over what energies and thought radio stations you put yourself around.
Watch a Comedy and then watch a period drama and notice the thought & emotion channels with each one. Watch what thoughts and emotions you have after being around certain people or places. These are not judgements of bad or good thoughts, there are just higher level thoughts and lower level thoughts. Your brain has already picked up millions of thought patterns it prefers and judgments it believes that it automatically taps into when they are around you, the only way to release the automatic reaction to BELIEVE THEM and IDENTIFY with them (which is causing you stress and harm) are to witness ALL OF THEM.
