Drink Dirt- Feel Better

I drink dirt every morning. I know right? And it makes my BODY feel AMAZEBALLS.

But here is the recipe for the dirt water, the amazon links for the products AND what I also drank and ate with it.

Morning Dirt Water:

Instructions:

  1. Mix magnesium with a small amount of warm water, let sit until bubbling subsides (warning! if you don't do this step you will get a bubbling mess of charcoal all over your kitchen, don’t say I didn't warn you!!!)

  2. Add the remaining ingredients

  3. Add in warm or cold water and mix together (warm water will give it thick consistency)

  4. Drink the dirt!

Why drink dirt water? This article explains really well how the charcoal and clay assist your body: Read it here. It also says to just drink it two days in a row each week. I drank it every day for the first month, and now drink it almost every other day. But listen to your body. Some people drink it multiple times a day depending on how much detoxing their body is needing.

NOTE:

*The charcoal and clay bind to everything in your bod- so DO NOT take medications up an hour before or after drinking it.

** DRINK A TON OF clean WATER. (tap water here is full of extra minerals, so if you can drink purified spring water or distilled) Drink more water than you usually do or you’ll get constipated!

***If you get too many die off symptoms (headache, distended stomach, gas etc) take a day off or do half the recipe. Some days I just drink the fiber and magnesium if I feel backed up too much. FYI you’ll need to stay close to a bathroom if you do that haha.

***Weird tip: I actually love this brand of organic psyllium, my body usually didn’t do well with Metamucil etc, but it does great with this. PS- if you loved cream of wheat as a kid, I’ll mix a Tblsp of the psyllium with a little hot water and a bit of butter and it tastes just like it! haha. My friend said she loves this trick as well to drink after the dirt water to settle her stomach.

***my BODY hated me the first day I drank the dirt water. but also know I cut out caffeine, sugar and was fasting for the first time in years. But It was good I had a slow day at home. I was nauseous and cranky and weak. The second day it wasn’t bad at all and by the third day my BODY was CRAVING the dirt. This is when I noticed my cravings and hunger were almost non-existent. I think many people are tryin to eat healthy and putting it down to discipline etc when in fact your body is craving the crap foods because it is so malnourished. I can’t tell you HOW good it feels!

This DIRT really fills you up, so it makes INTERMITTENT FASTING or whatever cleanse you are doing way easier to get through.

I do a 16:8 intermittent fast, which is an 8 hour eating window, sometimes less. My body seems to do well with two meals a day and a snack.

A fruit smoothie recipe I’ve been using I’ve loved with organic plant protein powder, and it has no insulin spike for me: 

-Handful of frozen Blueberries 

-Handful of frozen Mangos

-Banana 

-2 T Hemp seed 

Mix in a blender with water and add protein powder if you want. I also add in an avocado if I need more fats.

  • 🥗 salad with

  • Steamed broccoli

  • Steamed veggies

  • Flaxseed oil

  • B-12

  • Methyl folate b-12

  • Vitamin D

  • Vitamin k

Last notes-

*to get my body used to going to bed without eating, I added in sleepytime herbal tea as my bedtime routine and also a lot of herbal tea in the day to help my body detox and get through any hunger if I had some before fasting window ended (which didn’t happen often)
